English single malt · Dartmoor, Devon
A whisky that embodies its surroundings
Distilled in the cool, rarified air of the highest distillery in the British Isles. This is the English whisky renaissance, and Dartmoor is its beating heart.
Perfect whisky country
Produced from copper stills in the cool, rarified atmosphere
Highest in the British Isles
Our stills sit among the granite tors. Thinner air means a lower boiling point and a gentler, more aromatic spirit.
Water from the River Dart
Pure moorland water drawn from the source of the River Dart, the very start of every drop we make.
English barley, wild yeasts
Exceptional English distilling barley and our own secret and wild yeasts give a character found nowhere else.
Sustainable by nature
Distilling at a lower temperature uses far less energy – making this one of the most sustainable whiskies in the world.

Our story
The English whisky renaissance starts on the moor
It took a four-year quest to find the right place: among the granite tors of Dartmoor, higher than any other distillery in the British Isles. Up here the air is thinner, so spirit boils at a lower temperature and separates more easily from the heavier congeners – keeping the aromas that make a malt sing.
It's an idea with deep roots. In the 1700s and 1800s English whisky was made at scale in cities like Bristol. Dartmoor Princetown Whisky exists to bring commercial-scale English whisky back to the front of the world stage.
